NEW for 2021

REGISTRATION: Deadlines are sooner.  Registration deadlines vary based on the level, but the earliest deadlines end on February 28th.* (Even though the first deadline is February 28th, to aid in planning purposes, ROYBA requests registrations for All Travel and 2nd-9th graders be completed as quickly as possible.)

TRYOUT DATES: Tryouts are much earlier this year.  Tryout location availability was extremely limited due to Covid, and the dates of our tryouts were the only dates in the month of March that we were able to secure a tryout location.

We understand that this creates a unique challenge for many of our families.  We do want to work with you to allow your child the opportunity to participate in baseball tryouts.  Please email Brandon (brandon@royba.org), our travel director; so that he is aware of the situation and may be able to provide more guidance, once it becomes available.

TRYOUTS THEMSELVES: Tryouts are at The Furniture and Things Event Center (1000 School St. NW Elk River)

Due to Covid, for 2021, we anticipate that each level will only be evaluated one day.  Tryout times will be released as soon as they are available on our website.

We will be using two new pitching machines for 2021.

UNIFORMS: There will only be ONE opportunity for ALL players to try on uniforms this year, and that will be on March 6th & 7th at The Elk River Furniture and Things Event Center during tryout hours.

Go to the ROYBA website and click on the tab “Uniforms” to find the 2021 Uniform Order Form.  Fill out the Google form COMPLETELY regarding your child’s uniform sizing. (Uniforms will be delivered to coaches.)**

MAJORS: Majors baseball will now be split into two different levels.

National League (2nd-3rd grade) will focus on development and teaching skills.  This league is geared for a modified kid pitch/coach pitch level of play.

American League (3rd-4th grade) will focus on development and teaching skills but is designed for those players who are more advanced/competitive in their abilities to throw/hit/catch.  This league is geared for a more competitive level of play.  All fourth grade players will be placed in the American League.

*(There is a $25.00 late fee that will be automatically added to all Travel and 2nd-9th Grade registrations entered after February 28th, 2021. The cutoff date for Minors (K-1st)  league is March 31, 2021 and the cutoff for the 10th -12th Grade League is April 30, 2021.)

**Complete by 3/21/21 (All Travel & 2nd-9th grades), by 4/7/21 (All Minors K-1st), by 4/30/21 (All 10th-12th grades).
